# Goals

> Manage goals and progress history

Use a Developer API key with `goals:read` for reads and `goals:write` for mutations. See [Quick Start](/doc/developer/api/overview) for authentication and rate limits.

| Method | Endpoint |
| - | - |
| `GET` | `/v1/dev/user/goals` |
| `POST` | `/v1/dev/user/goals` |
| `DELETE` | `/v1/dev/user/goals/{goal_id}` |
| `GET` | `/v1/dev/user/goals/{goal_id}` |
| `PATCH` | `/v1/dev/user/goals/{goal_id}` |
| `GET` | `/v1/dev/user/goals/{goal_id}/history` |
| `PATCH` | `/v1/dev/user/goals/{goal_id}/progress` |

Two parameters are not obvious from the table:

* `PATCH /v1/dev/user/goals/{goal_id}/progress` takes `current_value` as a **required query parameter** (e.g. `?current_value=42.5`) — a JSON body alone returns `422`.
* `GET /v1/dev/user/goals/{goal_id}/history` takes an optional `days` query parameter (default `30`, max `365`).
